Faith, yes Faith!

The title of this blog says it all. To avoid most readers clicking delete the moment they see that word, I had to repeat it. But trying any other way to call your attention to this key to living a fulfilled life would risk your trying to start your engine and drive without an ignition system. Becoming the person you want to be – and hopefully know deep down that you are – requires faith and hence, faith training.

You already have faith but might not realize it. Think of it – you get out of bed in the morning. What for? It must be out of faith that the effort will prove preferable than the alternative. That’s faith.  Sounds too simple? It is, because accessing and mobilizing one’s faith requires the same daily attention as eating, thinking and yes, getting out of bed in the morning. Funny how easy it is to take the other responsibilities for granted yet be so flummoxed by this one.

That’s because you can’t touch, see, capture, switch on and off or demand faith of yourself like you might the other routines of daily life. Faith requires surrender to the transcendent – whatever that means. Actually it refers to something you have experienced only you didn’t think of it this way. [M1] Did you ever have a good idea? Of course you did. Ever wonder where it came from? Well, it came from the transcendent in you. Fortunately in this politically correct world, we don’t have to define it. For our purposes, it just is. You’ve proven it by your experience.

So now the question is how to access the transcendent in you to address difficult challenges like how to have a better relationship with your mate, how to parent your child, how to earn more money or manage it better. For today, you have accomplished plenty if you’ve read this far and think there might be something to my idea.

As usual, I invite comment and constructive criticism and of course, your questions.
